It is well known within my family and friends circle that I absolutely love tech and gadgets. I’m always on the look out for the latest, most useful gadget. Ok, so I may not purchase as soon as a new one comes out as I’d prefer the teething problems ironed out first but usually, after a month or so, this new gadget will have found its way to me 😁.
My newest addition is, of course, the Amazon Echo spot with the A.I Alexa.
Oh my goodness, I’m having so much fun teaching Alexa the skills that I need her to have. She starts my day with the weather, local and national news, my horoscope reading and my local racing circuit news (I am an avid motorbike fan), she’s just fantastic. She tells me jokes, she sings to me, she is trying to teach me French and she has even tried to stop my dog from barking, albeit unsuccessfully haha.
I search for new skills every day and you’ll never guess what I stumbled across? A quilting trivia skill and a colour wheel skill. I never expected to find anything to help or entertain me with my favourite hobby. I very quickly had a go with the quilting trivia skill. Alexa asks 5 random questions, to do with quilting, at a time and you get multiple choice answers. My first score was an extremely poor 2 out 5 but it certainly gets your brain matter working. I shall be playing that a lot. I haven’t tried the colour wheel yet but it is supposed to show you which colours work together, very handy.
There really needs to be more hobby skills added for Alexa, in particular quilting ones. I shall be looking into requesting this very soon.
